Really, I'd appreciate your will to pay, but I can't accept international checks. My bank has a minimum fee for handling those of roughly US$ 15. Sending cash is perfectly safe, just don't make it obvious. I haven't heard about anybody losing money that way.
If you want to use a Eurocheque, you might want to use either your local currency or German currency (DEM 30). If you use US$ they will charge you a lot more!
There's also international postal money orders, which are fine for me, but will be rather expensive for you.
Unfortunately I can't accept any kind of credit card, because there's certain requirements that I can't meet.
Should you want to send cash and it is to complicated for you to get US$s, you are welcome to send me the equivalent amount in your local currency ╤ that is, if your currency is freely convertible and reasonably stable ;-).
